How It Works

We provide you with:

  • a handbook with tips on recycling and drop-off programs
  • workshops and ongoing support to help you become a recycling expert

We ask you to:

  • lead by example by using all the recycling options available;
  • assist your neighbours by providing tips on recycling and answering questions; and
  • let us know when you need additional information materials or new carts, posters and labels for your recycling area.

    What to do with all the wrappers?

    Bring candy wrappers, chip bags and other crinkly wrappers to the Richmond Recycling Depot. Not sure what goes where? Check out the Recycling Search or the Richmond Recycling app.

    Pumpkin Recycling

    Give your Jack-o-lantern a new life! Remember to place your Halloween pumpkins in your Green Cart or backyard compost bin where they can start a new life as nutrient rich compost! Residents can purchase a backyard compost bin from the Richmond Recycling Depot at 5555 Lynas Lane. Open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (closed on statutory holidays).
