Richmond Nectar Trail 2022
This project ran May 19 to September 30, 2022. You can still view the pages and map to see where people added their pollinator-friendly plantings. Thank you to everyone who participated, and please join us again next year.
Did you know pollinators, such as bees, need to
touch down every 10 metres?
Welcome to the City of Richmond's Nectar Trail, a community-based mapping effort of pollinator friendly plantings throughout the city.
Mark your garden's location(s) on the interactive map (below) until Friday, September 30, 2022.
This way, you can help:
- us identify gaps in pollen stepping stones along routes
- grow Richmond's Nectar Trail with continuous habitats so pollinators can easily traverse the city
- build trails of pollen-rich plants to help pollinators thrive in Richmond’s ecological network.
Alternatively, you can:
- register your garden on the Richmond Nectar Trail Sign Up webpage
- email your name and postal code and photo to nectartrail@richmond.ca

News: Richmond designated a Canadian Bee City
We are proud to announce that Richmond has been designated a Canadian Bee City by Pollinator Partnership Canada, in recognition of its ongoing efforts to support and protect local pollinators through habitat enhancement, environmental stewardship, and public education.
This third annual Nectar Trail event aims to educate residents and business on the importance of pollinators, and encourage action by planting and maintaining small plots of pollinating plants throughout Richmond. This year, the Nectar Trail was launched on World Bee Day (May 20).
