  • Share Hi, further to Eric's question below, the South Dike capital project does not show the area currently under construction between Shell and No. 5 Road, and the links in the description of the project don't reference this work either. It would be nice to know the timeline on completion of that section.     Thank you for your interest in the City of Richmond’s Capital Projects. 

    We received your inquiry about the Horseshoe Slough Drainage Pump Station Upgrade and are happy to be on the home stretch with this project – final paving is slated to be complete in the coming weeks.     Project Description
    The existing drainage pump station for the Horseshoe Slough drainage area is nearing the end of its service life. The Horseshoe Slough Drainage Pump Station Upgrade will address the station’s ageing infrastructure replacement requirements as well as increase the capacity and effectiveness of the pump station. The new pump station will act as a foreshore gateway, for pedestrians, cyclists and other outdoor users travelling along Dyke Road near the connections with Woodward's Landing and Horseshoe Slough Trail.

    Location
    Dyke Road between Shell Road and No. 5 Road.

    General Considerations

    • Vehicle and pedestrian traffic may be limited or altered at times
    • Businesses and residents will be notified in advance of work that may impact them.
    • Diking, fisheries and other government agency requirements will be followed throughout construction process.

    $7,351,000 Estimated

    Completion Date
    October 2020
