Public parks are publicly owned land that offer opportunities for City-led restoration and enhancement focusing on "green infrastructure". Green infrastructure provides essential ecosystem services upon which we depend. The large pond in Garden City Community Park is an example of green infrastructure - it is not only a beautiful part of the park, but it stores and filters rainwater runoff from the surrounding neighbourhood.
