Help choose the winning street banner designs that will be displayed on light poles in 2025.
A judging panel of community artists narrowed down the competition to 20 finalists and it is now time for the public to vote for their favourite design.
Using LetsTalkRichmond.ca, you can vote for your favourite designs by choosing up to 10 designs (one from EACH theme) in the survey below.
The 10 designs, one from each theme, that receive the most votes will be named the winners of the Annual Street Banner Contest and the designs will be showcased across Richmond.
All votes must be cast by 11:59pm PST on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Entries for the 32nd annual Street Banner Contest closed on Sunday, September 15, 2024 with over 575 individual submissions received.
This year’s submissions included a broad range of visual art forms – photography, digital art, painting, illustration, printmaking and mixed media collage. All submissions reflect the following 10 themesrepresenting the City of Richmond’s distinct charm:
Arts, Culture and Heritage
Community
Diversity
Island City
Nature
Play
Sports and Recreation
Sustainability
Urban Landscape
Wildlife
The winning images will be printed on over 1,000 street banners. They will be installed on street light poles to enhance the city’s spirit and beautify the downtown core and gateways from March 2025 to February 2026.
Richmond’s street banner contest is a part of the broader Partners for Beautification Program, which invites community members to become actively involved in the beautification of their city.
