What’s happening?
ArtWorks: Richmond Arts Strategy 2019-2024 serves as a guide for decision-making to empower ideas, people and resources around a shared vision to advance the policies, programs and services needed for the arts to thrive in Richmond.
After five years, the City is now undergoing a new process of engagement and review to update the strategy to align with current trends and realities in Richmond. We need your help to determine what to include.
Background
Originally developed through extensive community feedback and supported by the contributions of a 25-member multi-generational and multicultural Task Group, ArtWorks: Richmond Arts Strategy 2019-2024 was officially endorsed by City Council on July 8, 2019. The document is organized under a unifying vision:
Richmond’s thriving arts scene:
- animates our city every day;
- offers rich arts education and experiences, festivals and events;
- fosters social connections and wellness;
