From the opening day in May 1964, Minoru Sports Pavilion has been an important part of Richmond's recreational, social and cultural life.

In July 2014, the Pavilion will be decommissioned to make way for a new aquatic facility and older adults centre.

To celebrate and commemorate the Pavilion’s 50 years of service to the community and to recognize the continued importance of the Minoru precinct to the recreational and social lives of Richmond residents, a celebration and farewell event was held on Saturday, July 5, 2014.

Guest Book

Did you get married or celebrate a special occasion at Minoru Sports Pavilion in the 60s? Were you a member of a group who square danced in the building in the 70s? Perhaps you participated in an aerobics class in the 80s? Maybe you were part of a sports group who used the Pavilion as its headquarters for a tournament or awards celebration?

To celebrate and commemorate Minoru Sports Pavilion’s 50 years of service to the community, you are invited to share stories, photos or video illustrating the role the facility has played in your life over the decades.

We will be sharing these images and stories in a display at the Celebration and Farewell event on Saturday, July 5 at Minoru Sports Pavilion.
